My good friend Alyssa tagged me in a post called then and now where she shared her life from 10 years ago compared to her life now. Since we have the same birthday month and we both turned 27, I thought I would do the same and share with you my 17 year old self vs my 27 year old self. Here goes!
Then: 2004 – Age 17
Now: 2014 – Age 27
Crushing On
Then: My high school boyfriend
Now: The best looking guy I know – My husband Alan
Attitude
Then: Independent – I was so ready for college
Now: Still independent, but with much more responsibility (2.5 kids)
Hair
Then: Long and blonde
Now: Long and less blonde. You can’t tell in the pictures, but I was much blonder then.
Style
Then: Cardigans and flared and cargo pants
Now: Still cardigans and classic pieces that I can wear for a long time.
Watching
Then: That’s So Raven & Everybody Loves Ramond
Now: White Collar & Bones & Sherlock
Listening
Then: Anything Hip Hop
Now: I’ve tamed it down and really listen to anything I like. My favorite song right now is “Say Something” by A Great Big World
Reading
Then: Great Gatsby (AP English Books)
Now: LDS books, Love Stories – Longing for Home, Blackmoore, and Huckleberry Hill. Also children’s literature to my girls which I am a huge fan of! Seriously. I love kid books.
Leisure
Then: Hanging out with friends on the weekends.
Now: I think I had more leisure time then than I do now! And I was crazy busy in high school with AP classes, Varsity Water Polo, tutoring, and church leadership.
Dreams
Then: Go to college and marry the man of my dreams. (done and done!)
Now: Raising my wonderful kids to be wonderful people.
Oh high school. I look back on that time fondly, but am so glad it’s over. Life still continues to be crazy, but in a new and different way. All part of the stages of life and I love where I am right now. And because I hate choosing people to tag, I tag anyone who wants to do this post! Let me know if you do it so I can read about your life then and now!
