My daughter is starting to recognize letters and I love it! She knows that her name starts with a K and her sister starts with a C and points them out when she sees them. So I wanted to make her something to further expand that letter recognition. So I made these:
Alphabet Trays
These are so easy and cheap to make! I saw this on Pinterest from We Can Do All Things. I went to Walmart and bought two cheap cookie sheets. We’re talking less than a dollar each. Then I bought some magnetic alphabet letters.
I tried looking for just the cheap ones you put on the fridge, but couldn’t find them anywhere! So I bought these Melissa and Doug ones which are wooden and should last a while. They also came with numbers which is awesome!
I placed all the letters on the tray and then using a permanent marker, wrote the letter directly on the cookie sheet.
I wrote my daughter’s name on the bottom so she could practice spelling and recognizing her name as well.
Then I used the second cookie sheet to make a numbers tray.
So easy and my daughter loves it! In fact both my girls do! Even though one can match the letters and the other one just likes that they stick to the sheet. 🙂 But it’s good practice.
