Smart Phones. A necessity for moms and a magnet for children. My kids love my phone as much as I do which is a real problem when you have little kids. Sticky fingers and a tendency to throw things does not go well with a delicate phone. I have had some phones broken and damaged over the years, but I have learned some tricks and now I have some great phone hacks to share with you!
Phone Hacks for Protecting Your Phone
IntelliGLASS Screen Protector
With small kids, you definitely need a screen protector so your screen is much less likely to crack or shatter when dropped or put in your purse with your keys. I love that IntelliGlass is made of glass so it’s hard and smudge resistant (a huge plus for me!). I will always use a glass screen protector now. Adding that thin hard layer gives me more confidence that my screen is protected.
IntelliGLASS also reduces radiation from up to 69%! With our constant exposure to radio frequencies being emitted from our phones, it’s nice to have some peace of mind that not only are we protecting our phones, but we are also protecting ourselves.
It’s so easy to put this screen protector on your phone. They give you all the tools you need to make sure your phone is clean and lint free for the best results possible.
IntelliGLASS screen protectors are also bubble free! There’s nothing more annoying than a bubble stuck to your screen! And the glass is completely clear so it doesn’t affect what you see on your screen. As you can see in the picture below, when I first put my protector on, there were little bubbles around the outside. Those should disappear in 24-48 hours.
This is definitely a product you want for you phone. And IntelliARMOR is giving my readers 20% off their screen protectors! Just use the code: INTELLI20 at checkout on Amazon.
Good Cover
I’ve tried lots of different phone covers and most have been really good. I usually have to buy a new one every so often because the corners break from my phone being dropped so many times. But better to have to buy a new cover than a new phone! And then of course it’s fun to get one that fits your personality. I tend to go with mint colored. I listen to the Happier podcast by Gretchen Rubin and she was talking about signature colors. Mine is totally mint.
Do you have a signature color? I would love to know!
Keep cords out of reach
Am I the only one who has kids suck on cords? I don’t know why this happens, but I always find cords in my kids’ mouths which of course ruins the chord. So keep cords away where little kids can’t find them. This includes ear buds.
Keep Kids in Their App
If you let your kids use your phone, they might get bored with a game and want to find something else and start clicking around different apps and end up moving things around or even deleting things. This has happened SOOO many times to me. Did you know you can lock an app so you can’t get out unless you use a passcode? This keeps kids in their app!
All you have to do is go to settings – general – accessibility – and scroll down to Guided Access. Turn it on and set the passcode or you can use touch ID to turn guided access off. Now when you’re in an app, triple click the home button and a prompt will come up for Guided Access. Click start in the upper right hand corner. Now your kids can’t leave the app! To get out, triple click again and enter the passcode and in unlocks. I love this for my smaller kids who keep clicking the home button and can’t understand why their game ended…
Or you can be like some of my friends (and my husband) who just don’t put games on their phone. I should try that.
Use Pandora as Your Car Radio
I really want to have clean fun music playing in the car when I’m driving my kids. So I plug in my phone to my car and we listen to a Disney station on Pandora. We also listen to kids songs, toddler songs, and Kidz Bop radio stations on Pandora. I love that I don’t have to worry about inappropriate lyrics or paying for multiple cds. And the kids never get bored of it.
I hope those phone hacks help protect your phone and make them last a little longer. 🙂 What’s your favorite phone hack?
