I love Easter time and that it fills you with HOPE. The hope of spring and green and warmth, but most importantly the hope of eternity and forgiveness and everlasting life. Of course the Easter bunny, chocolate, and egg hunts are fun, but it’s important to remind our children and really discuss why we celebrate Easter with uplifting and meaningful Easter activities.
Easter is about the Savior.
It’s about His suffering in Gethsemane, His death on the cross, and His resurrection so that we might all be resurrected and be able to return to our Father in Heaven.
Sometimes it can be hard to think of engaging Easter activities for our families that help teach and express the real events that happened at the end of Christ’s life. I have great activity for you and your family that’s part of the #Hallelujah campaign to help you get into the real spirit of Easter and to have a good discussion about the Savior and what He did for each of us.
Heidi Swapp created an awesome activity with envelopes that each have a phrase and scriptures to look up and talk about with your family. The envelopes fit inside each other so you can open one after the other. How fun is that? Your kids are going to love this!
It’s simple to put together. Print the envelopes – I’ve provided a link to below, cut them out, fold them up and seal them with something that’s easily removed like washi tape. You’ll also probably want to use a thicker paper like card stock if you have any. Then place each envelope inside the other. Kind of like those awesome Russian dolls where each doll fits inside the other.
So when you do the activity you’ll start with the biggest envelope and work your way to the smallest.

Here’s what you’ll find on each envelope in this Easter Activity:
- Foretold from the Beginning: John 1:29 and Isaiah 7:14-15
- Betrayed, Crucified: John 19:30 and Luke 23:34
- In Christ shall all be made alive: 1 Corinthians 15:20, 22
- He is Risen, Promise of Peace: Matthew 28:6
- Believe: John 11:26
- He did it for you
Happy Easter!
