You guys, I love summer. I used to love summer a little more when I didn’t have kids home all day telling me they’re bored and not giving me any free time. I am seriously asked to do or watch or help with something every 2 minutes. All. Day. Long. I’m exhausted by the time night comes because I’m on my toes 24/7! I do love the splash pads and suntanned cheeks and watermelon and fireworks and warm summer sun. But I do miss my “me time” that I used to get during nap time a little bit too. Only 8 weeks until school starts. But who’s counting?
There are more adventures in the summer which also means I have less time to cook. And I love eating grilled food. Partly because my husband is the one who does the grilling. 😉 And it’s so good. Hot sizzling meat, grilled veggies, and one of our all time favorites, grilled pineapple. YUM!
Johnsonville has made it super easy to make a delicious grilled chicken meal with their new chicken kabobs. It’s so easy because the chicken is already on the kabob for you AND it’s already marinated! It takes all the hard work out of preparing kabobs so you can get your grill on in a matter of minutes.
They have 4 gluten-free and all natural tasty kabob flavors to choose from:
- Lemon and Herb
- Teriyaki
- Sweet BBQ
- Sweet Chili Lime
We tried Teriyaki and Sweet Chili Lime and although I enjoyed both, Teriyaki was the biggest hit in my house. But I have young kids and they don’t always love the citrus seasoning. I know they would have loved Sweet BBQ too.
So we just grilled up the kabobs and ate them right off the stick with a yummy pasta salad (that I need to share with you guys soon, it’s amazing!) and some watermelon.
Here are some other great ways to use your chicken kabobs
Chicken Skewers with Yogurt Hummus Sauce – use the lemon and herb chicken kabobs and all you’ll have to do is make the sauce. You won’t even have to marinate the chicken! So quick and easy.
BBQ Chicken Salad – use the sweet BBQ chicken kabobs in a delicious salad.
Chili Lime Chicken Wrap – use the chili lime chicken kabobs to create this yummy wrap that you put together with a mango avocado salsa. Sounds amazing!
Teriyaki Grilled Chicken and Veggie Rice Bowl – use the teriyaki chicken kabob and mix it with some steaming rice and grilled veggies for this yummy meal.
So make sure you grab your 1 or even all 4 flavors of Johnsonville chicken kabobs from your favorite grocery store. And now that you have all this free time on your hands from a quick dinner you can play some night games with the kids or make a yummy triple chocolate cake for dessert.
